Plan:
Pinch Pots
Pinch pot cut in half
Pinch pot turned into something
Plan:
-Roll clay into ball
-Push finger in and thin our and form bottom
-slowly pinch up evening out the sides
-make everything even
-Roll clay into ball
-Push finger in and thin our and form bottom
-slowly pinch up evening out the sides
-make everything even
- make legs
- score and slip and connect legs
For this piece I could've improved a lot. This is the first pinch pot I've done and it wasnt even. The next time I make a pinch pot I will spend more time thinning out the bottom and evening out all the sides.
For this piece I used orion stout and I wanted to make a plant pot. For this piece I think I did good on thinning out the sides and evening it out. Next time I would add more support and spend more time on the legs. I didn't fire this pot because I dont like how I made the legs and they didn't have enough support as I wanted them to.

Double pinch pots
Plan:

Small animal
Plan:
-roll piece of clay into ball for head
- make body and connect to head
-make shell and connect it
-make the arms and connect them over the shell
-connect legs and tail
-make ears and face
-under glaze then clear glaze
-Roll clay into 2 balls
-Push finger in and thin our and form bottom
-slowly pinch up evening out the sides
-make everything even
-do same thing to other and make them the same size
-score and slip each pice together
- even out sides
-cut out top and form the rim
For this piece I used orion stout and I wanted to make a simple pot. I think I did good on connecting these together and providing it with enough support. If I made this again I would spend more time smoothing it out and cleaning up the top of it and making it look nicer. I didn't fire this piece because I didn't plan on what I was going to do with it and I didn't like it.

For this piece I used orion stout and the underglazes white, brown, black, soft pink, and royal purple. I wanted to make and ocean animal so I decided on an otter. For this piece I liked how I did the arms with the shell and how I underglazed it. During this piece I struggle with connecting the tail because it was thin. Next time I think I could do better on its face because it looks like a polar bear than an otter.

Historical piece
Plan:
-make pinch pot
-make a handle
-connect handle

Mini masterpiece
Plan:
-make a tile for base
-underglaze a painting of my choice
-clear glaze
For this piece I used orion stout and I wanted to make a piece base off the pottery in Central Europe around 8000-2000 B.C.E.
I think I did good on the pinch pot. I struggled with the handle because I had never made one before and it was too thin. If I made this again I would make the handle stronger and make sure I connected correctly it so it would last. I did not fire this piece because the handle would have just broken If I fired it.
For this piece I used venus white. I based this piece off of the scream because of the contrast of colors. I think I did good on the sky and following the original work. I did struggle with the scale of the man and the bridge though. Next time I would spend more time planning out the proportions.

Choice
Plan:
-flatten piece of clay
-carve out mouth
-add clay on mouth to turn it a bowl
-add facial features
For this piece I used venus white and the glazes cotton tail and black. I wanted to make something that was fun and silly but also useful so I made a fruit bowl. I like how I shaped the face and the size of everything. If I were to make this again I would learn how to make facial features (eyes, eyebrows, nose) because the eyes look really bad and I didn't know how to make them. Overall I really like this piece.
