Stamp
Plan:
-Roll out piece of clay for handle
-Make flat circle for stamp
-Carve out star
-Connect handle to circle
For this piece I used orion stout. My stamp went well, but I wish that I had made the star stick out instead of carving it in so it would be more like a stamp. I do think that I made it very smooth and I connected them well for it being my first piece.
Face
Small Piece with Underglaze
I did not make a face because I joined the class late and I was told not to
For this piece I used orion stout and I used the underglazes peach and frost blue. I did may plate good and I am satisfied with the design and shape of it. Though, I wish I had added more support on the bottom and I think I should have waited for it to dry out a little before I underglazed so I would keep its form
-Roll out piece of clay
-Pick plate shape and mold clay to it
-Roll stamp on and perfect design
-Provide support on bottom with rolled out clay and attaching to bottom
-Paint piece with underglazes
